We left our hotel at 8:00am in one boat, we crossed the canal and transferred to another boat. We got off the boat at the terminal and hopped on a bus and it dropped us off at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mestre, where our car was. We headed inland and north to Lake Como and rented an apartment in Bellagio. Harry made several comments about Americans coming over here, the first thing they asked was "where did George Clooney live?". I could not resist. As soon as we completed our registration at the Hotel Silvio, well you know what I asked....where does George Clooney live? The clerk said he did not live here, he lived in Laglio..but he did come near here to a restaurant. So we did not see George, but we did eat at a restaurant near where he ate.

Today is my 65th birthday. We ran into a lady from the states tonight who was 50 years old today. 20 of her friends flew over to celebrate her birthday. I told her it just picks up speed from here on out. While I did not have 20 friends with me, I did have my wife, Linda and two of our dear friends, Harry and Amanda to share it with us. Bellagio, Lake Como, Foothills of the Swiss Alps...it does not get any better than this..
Tomorrow we will take the auto ferry over to Varenna and travel north through St. Moritz, Switzerland, Lichenstein and end up in Lindau, Germany. It should be a scenic trip through the Alps
